You were super excited to see Jesse and Cori.. But are a little disappointed that he did not give you all his attention. You are one of about 30 munchkins!  It's a good lesson for you in patience. 

Weaving!

Really and truly, you did this all by yourself!  I showed you the very basics and you were off.  Good job, Ruby!

Your Great Grandma Blanche Hatch (Grandpa Hatch's mom) used to love to knit and do crafts. Some of our afghans were made by her, and are special to me. She would have loved to nurture your weaving talents.  

This first one was, "for you , mom.. I wanted to make it just for you!" But when you finished, you decided Mrs Flood, your schoolteacher would love it. I love your face and how proud you are.  :)

Grandma Hatch

Spoiler alert:  mom is feeling emotional today :-( :-/ :-) :-0

Grandma hatch is having a pretty big surgery today.  She had a hernia repair a few years back and they used mesh to keep it all together. Now the mesh is getting infected and needs to come out. 

Whenever someone had surgery, there is a slight chance that they won't make it through the surgery. That means they could die. That chance, however slight,seems insignificant. It's completely insignificant until.... It's someone you love dearly. (And there goes my make up)

I know it's possible to live in a world without your grandma, but it would leave a huge void in our lives. She would not be there to wake up at five o'clock to Watch Peppa pig with Henry. She wouldn't be the only person that Charlotte allow us to brush her hair, because grandma takes her time, and does it softly. She wouldn't be in her chair, always available for Ruby to talk things through and help her make the best decision when she was unsure. Like the stars, grandma is a constant. She does not do our needs above her own. Always.

You have a book float parade today, and you were hurt and upset that I would not be there. i had arranged to get off early last Thursday when it was originally scheduled, but the snow has caused it to be rescheduled to today.  I tried to explain it to you, but you did not understand. When you are older, you will see that we must stand by the ones we love, and some things must come first. 

Saying a prayer for grandma today, and for your broken heart. I love you baby.
