I am sitting here looking at our top half only Christmas tree, watching the Family Stone. I think I wrote about it last year, but it makes me wonder what our family will look like 20 years from now.

And I digress.. A note from your teacher.
Apparently you are doing well at school academically, and in general, socially.
You are, however, having some issues with sharing at school, and at home. Yesterday an issue came up with one of your best friends in class, Connor.
You both said some nasty things after he asked to have something you were using and you said "no".
There is a fine line between standing up for yourself when threatened and being mean. Also, if you had shared in the first place, it would not have happened. Another issue that keeps popping up that is more troublesome is lying.
You came off the bus yesterday saying " I was the only one on purple today!" Meaning that you had exceptional behavior that day. I am thinking you would not have gotten a note for bad behavior and purple on the same day. We asked again, and you refused to deny it, so I will clarify with your teacher and if you are lying as we suspect, there will need to be a consequence.

It appears we have filled up your first blog book, according to Blogger. Who knew you could do that? I had no idea when I started writing you letters how much joy it would bring me to read them later. It brings tears to my eyes to read something that would long ago have been lost from my memory had I not written it down, but then I read it and there is the memory, just as plain as day, like it was yesterday. :)
So here we are, continuing our journey together with the Life of Ruby, Chapter 2.
