School at Home
Note: I did not say HomeSchool. Lol! We have been working hard, especially on Math and Science.
Yesterday, you learned that 4 quarters make a dollar... Which meant you had enough money to get your face painted The next time we go to Busch Gardens. In fact you had enough money to get it painted three times.
What do you want to do with all that money Ruby?
"I think I'll save it and get $100!!"
Sugar to daddy's ears.
"That way, I can go to the Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber concert!!"
Double booked
I will admit it: I got a little over enthusiastic this year when planning your summer activities.
Today for example, You are scheduled for swim lessons from 10-11, then you go to Ms Courtneys to play, Then, gymnastics tonight from 5 to 7. Tomorrow is your birthday, and we have swim lessons, then we are going to do something special all day (movies and shopping at the mall which you love.. sometimes it feels like you were born a teenager). Then, on Wednesday you have swim lessons and gymnastics again. Thursday you have swim lessons, And next week is vacation Bible school at church. I hope you don't feel make you too exhausted ...it was all planned with love.
I hope you have a great summer, baby!

Our family
Daddy's letter, continued.
This made my cry. What a good man we have in our lives.
Finally, the love of my life, Jackie. Who could ask for a more fun counterbalance to my serious side. She sings in every room to brighten the day. She cares more about what I think than probably I even do. She keeps the house going with her energy and full time love despite working where she helps the very old see better and the very young feel better. Her heart is very tender and I need to do a better job of taking care of it. My words mean a lot to her and I need to do a better job in the upcoming years of being supportive and working towards less hassle and more love. I've got three great examples we are raising to follow.
Me.... Well 41 isn't so bad. I've got a few body aches here and there... It is in middle age that you figure out a few more truths in life.... First, you realize that most old folks get tired of talking about what hurts today and just move on to talking about what interests them and then you circle back around and talk about weather. Second, life becomes a lot less about you and your own personal accomplishments and more about legacy and what shape the upcoming generations might be in to handle the challenges about which we are wise enough to see on the horizon. Third, pop culture is an irrelevant distraction to what is real and is not really culture at all. Fourth, government is too big, out of control, and the system used to control by those in power is insidious and contrary to my family's best interest and their long term well being. Finally, I would give Jackie another A+ for putting up with me, the anti-big government zealot that I have become over the past few years. I would give myself a B, because I love to improve and to be told that cannot do something. Nothing is more important than believing in yourself and trying new things.
It is in the spirit and love of family, that I wish you a truly Happy Father's Day.
Daddy's Letter on Fathers Day
Wow! Time is marching on....
Ruby finished just kindergarten and will
turn SIX this Tuesday. She has turned
into quite the smart cookie; but, more
important than grades, she is enthusiastic
and with a certain snap to her step and a
very caring heart. It is hard to believe
that she is a third of the way through her
life at home... I'll give Jackie an A+ for
the best kickoff a little girl can have in life.
No matter what happens Ruby will only
be strengthened by those voices she has
heard since her first breath.
